The Making of Krobo Bead
First of all, Krobo beads are made from recycled glass. The glass is crushed into powder and poured into ceramic molds like the one pictured to the left of this post. Second, after all of the pits in the mold have been filled with powdered glass, it is then placed into a clay oven and fired under high temperatures until the glass powder is fused together into a bead. The next step is to remove the molds that have finished the baking process. Each bead is carefully shaped while it is still glowing red hot. View our short video from our Youtube channel.
