The Origins of Kente Cloth

Kente cloth is a fabric that has its origins in Ghana West Africa. Legend has it that two brothers went hunting and came across a spider spinning its web. They were so amazed by the beauty of this web. As a result they tried to emulate something similar with black and white fibers from a raffia tree. Hence, the birth of Kente cloth.

This is a short video that I recorded many years ago while on location in Ghana West Africa.
